The Angler Magazine
Plastic lures, spoons, and softbaits work well with catching to- mans. Surface lures and divers work well with tomans. When they come up for air, casting lures at them often triggers a bite. The ability to cast fast is key. The fish usually surfaces for about a second before diving back down to the bottom. If you happen to miss that little window, casting deep diving lures around the area do register hits as tomans are territorial and do not stray far from their “home.” Needless to say, they are also smart hunters. While they do hit out of anger and reflex, those living in waters that see a lot of anglers, do learn and become cautious. They may not take lures that they are used to seeing. Another toman that took a plastic lure. Home Contents Subscribe Contact
