The Abu Garcia ALX Theta comes with newly developed Salt Shield™ bearings that not only shields the bearings from saltwater but also repels water. This adds to better corrosion resistance, better durability, of which also means longer lifespan.

Light Or Tough, You Choose

One special thing about the Abu Garcia ALX Theta is its drag setting. No doubt we prefer our reels to be able to put high pressure on the brute that we are battling. However, there are many at time when our drag pressure takes the fun away from the battle. Some call this overkill. Well, with the Abu Garcia ALX Theta, the overkill scenario can be somewhat avoided.

The reel comes with a 2 Way Drag that allows the angler to apply a sort of handicap system when fishing (like how golfers apply it in golf when playing a less skilled opponent). The Abu Garcia ALX Theta allows the angler to choose either a Light drag setting or a Tough drag setting. Light for weaker fighters giving them a fairer chance of winning. While tough is for the gladiators.
