Fans of Berkley’s Fireline are in for some excitement. Berkley has launched another pro favourite line, the Fireline Ultra 8. The Berkley Fireline Ultra 8 is a superline that fuses together 8 carriers for a smooth, strong, and tough line with better abrasion resistance.
What’s The Big Deal With 8?
So, what is the big deal with 8 carriers? Carriers are smaller lines, and in Berkley’s case; smaller Dyneema lines. Dyneema is known to be the toughest fibre around. Eight carriers means that 8 smaller Dyneema lines are put together to make 1 strong line. 8 carriers also mean that the line can take more torture.
Powerful and tough lines made with Dyneema fibres.
Better Distance
The Berkley Fireline Ultra 8 is a rounder line compared to early days Fireline. This allows for smoother line glide during every cast. Smoother line gliding off the guides means better distances. Early days Berkley Fireline fused has more of a flatter structure as compared to the Ultra 8. Comparing both lines, the Ultra 8 certainly takes the cake.
4 times more abrasion resistant.
Handling Abrasion
It is impossible for one’s lines to not face the issue of abrasion. Fishes hide out in structures. Structures underwater provides protection to the fishes. As anglers we tend to get our baits near structures or into them, hence abrasion on our fishing lines is certainly a guarantee. With 8 tough carriers making one line, the Berkley Ultra 8 has better abrasion resistant. Berkley claims that the Ultra 8 is 4 times more resistant to abrasion as compared to other lines in its class.
