When it comes to the folks at Berkley; millions have been invested into Research and Development. Production cost too warrants these lines to be priced the way they are priced.

Good news is that over the years more affordable braided lines have made their way into the markets of the fishing world. More and more anglers now have the ability to enjoy the benefits of braided lines. Benefits such as extremely low to no stretch, super sensitivity, better hookups or hook setting, etc. were once reserved to those who paid top dollars for fishing lines; but not anymore.
The Berkley Micro Braid X4.
The Berkley Micro Braid X4 is an affordable braided line that has come to our shores. They come in 4 carriers. Carriers are individual lines. Four carriers simply mean four individual lines braided together to make one line. This means that the Berkley Micro Braid X4 is a braided line that has four lines braided into one.
The Berkley Micro Braid X4 comes in connected spools.
They also come in connected spools of six. Each spool has 100 metres of Berkley Micro Braid X4. This totals to 600 metres of lines. As of now I am not sure if one is able to purchase a single spool or will one have to purchase all six spools at once. The benefit that comes with connected spools is that one can fill large saltwater reels easily without having to connect lines to lines.
