Grubs are some of my favourite soft baits, especially Berkley’s PowerBait Power Grubs. They have been my favourite soft baits when targeting the fun and acrobatic barramundis. I have been using them (Berkley PowerBait Power Grub) successfully for many years playing them really slow when targeting groupers, as well as really fast when targeting barramundis.
What makes the grub so successful at attracting and catching fish is its tail and ribs at its body. The tail of the Berkley PowerBait Power Grub dances underwater like an exotic dancer twirling a piece of soft cloth. The ail movement attracts the attention of fishes and make them take the bait. The ribs on the other hand creates vibrations underwater that attracts fishes as they feel these vibrations via their lateral lines.

Now there is the new and improved grub by Berkley called the Berkley PowerBait® Pro Grub. The Berkley PowerBait® Pro Grub comes with a bigger profile that is better at attracting fish. The rib on its body is also larger and thus sends out even more vibrations telling nearby predators that an injured fish is nearby and is an easy meal.
As with all Berkley PowerBait® soft baits, the Berkley PowerBait® Pro Grub comes built with scent that not only attracts fish. When the fish bites the bait, more scent goes into the fish’s’ mouth thus why fish holds on to PowerBaits longer than other soft baits. Berkley claims that the PowerBait is held on by fish 18 times longer.
