The Berkley Garfield Casting Set comes with a fish designed high quality solid plastic rod handle with a built in spin cast reel in orange and purple colours. The rod is a fibreglass telescopic rod that extends up to 29 inches. Together with the set is a fish design orange coloured plastic casting plug.

The reel on the Berkley Garfield Casting Set is invented by Grice, Steven L. of Spirit Lake, Iowa. It is patented as a toollessly removable spool and spool cap or a spool that can be removed without tools on a spin casting reel.

It made nice gifts back in its time and is a good tool to get children interested in fishing. these days there are quite a few more children type fishing sets from Disney, Marvel, etc. but it is nice to have a classic such as the Berkley Garfield Casting Set. I am sure it got a lot more kids fishing.
