The Abu Garcia Max STX rod is primarily orange in colour, with splashes of grey and black. Taking a closer look at the orange coloured area of the butt section you’ll a mixture of shapes in different shades of orange. These shapes together with the grey and black areas gives the Max STX rod an awesome and cool look.
The Abu Garcia Max STX in my hands is the baitcasting model. Yes, it does come with a hook-keeper.
Talking about balance, the Abu Garcia Max STX rod is lightweight and very well balanced. It comes with a 24ton graphite blank. The grips are EVA. The rear EVA grips uses a split grip style to give it that sporty look. But there’s more to the split grip than just looks. The split EVA grips help with the balancing of the rod as well. When one picks up the Max STX rod, one feels the lightness. It balances out when the rod is held at a horizontal level where the weight disappears further.
Why Use 24Ton Graphite
24ton graphite blanks are versatile. They are tough and has a good balance between flex and rigidity. 24ton graphite blanks have a wider fishing application and most anglers will find them to be suitable to their use. Sensitivity is there although not as sensitive as blanks with higher ton ratings. Of course the higher the ton rating, the higher the prices of the blanks. 24ton blanks offers a good balance between price and performance.
